Browser WebMCP reference

What an assistant can read from an open tab, where the tools appear, and what they never submit.

1. When these tools appear

A Tabularia page registers browser WebMCP tools only when its open tab exposes a modelContext interface with tool registration. A browser that can run Tabularia does not necessarily offer that interface. Availability also depends on the assistant's browser host; it is a capability check, not a promise tied to a browser version. When the interface is absent, the page works normally and registers no browser tools.

These tools belong to the tab you have open. They do not connect through the HTTPS address in the remote connector reference. The remote connector reads the last cloud copy that synced; Studio WebMCP reads the live tab, including local work that has not synced. 2. Public pages and account guidance

Public page tools report information and routes. They do not navigate or submit a form.

tabularia_find_site_pages
Takes query, a topic of 2 to 80 characters. Returns up to eight matching first-party page titles, descriptions, and paths.
tabularia_guide_account_task
Takes task: sign-up, sign-in, verify-email, sign-out, account, or subscribe. Returns a same-site entry path, current page state, and a next step. It does not perform that step.
tabularia_read_plan_options
Available on the pricing page. Returns the current Free and available Cloud plan catalog with prices and features. It does not start checkout.
tabularia_read_account_options
Available on the signed-in account page. Returns visible verification and subscription status and available billing action labels. It does not return an email address or change the account.

The account guide does not read form values or verification tokens. Signing in, following an email link, signing out, and subscribing remain actions for the Writer.

3. Reading an open Studio

These tools read the Project in the current Studio tab when it is open:

Reports the open Project, selected Working Scope, each Draft's showing and on-or-off Markup state, Sidebar and right-panel state, open menus or dialogs, and sync or offline status.
tabularia_read_studio_editor_ui
Reports the document header, counts, goals, timer, page format, zoom, formatting state, toolbar availability, and Writing Tools controls.
tabularia_read_studio_sidebar_ui
Reports the active Files, Outline, Timelines, or Assets view: its search, filters, labels, selected or expanded rows, and Timeline Drawer state.
tabularia_read_studio_right_panel_ui
Reports the active Drafts & Sharing or Sheets view, its searches and filters, rendered Draft or Sheet rows, sharing counts, and publication settings and status. It omits sharing recipients and private invitation or published-page links.
tabularia_read_visible_studio_location
Reports the Book, Chapter, Scene, and first and last Blocks in the current Canvas viewport; Block text is truncated.
tabularia_read_current_selection
Reports the current Canvas selection and selected text.
tabularia_read_document_window
Reads a bounded window of Blocks from the current Canvas document.
tabularia_search_document
Finds text across that Canvas document and returns a bounded page of matching Blocks.
tabularia_find_studio_scenes
Takes query, 2 to 80 characters from a Scene title. Returns up to 20 matching Scene marker IDs and titles for navigation.
tabularia_read_studio_performance_snapshot
Returns Studio's current performance diagnostics, if that surface is available.

The document window and search default to 40 Blocks per page and cap at 120. Their optional blockStart is a zero-based offset, blockLimit chooses the page size, and includeLayout includes current layout diagnostics. Search also requires searchText. Sidebar, Timeline Drawer, Draft, and Sheet row reads return at most 30 rendered rows each, with a truncation flag. A rendered count is not a count of the whole Project or a virtualized list.

4. Navigation in Studio

Four named tools change the visible UI without changing Manuscript content:

Takes tab: files, outline, timelines, or assets.
tabularia_open_studio_right_panel_tab
Takes tab: drafts or sheets.
tabularia_navigate_to_studio_scene
Takes sceneId, a marker ID returned by a location or Scene search, and reveals that Scene through Studio's Outline navigation.
tabularia_navigate_to_studio_block
Takes blockId from a location or document read and reveals that Block. A narrowed Working Scope can peek at it without changing the selected scope.

Navigation refuses an unknown target, a Studio that is still opening, or an open dialog. No browser tool offers arbitrary clicks or swipes, text editing, accepting a Review Change, deletion, sharing invitations, publishing, or account and checkout submissions.
